Tutoring

Tutoring for 7-14 year olds.

I love helping children fulfil their potential and make rewarding progress.  Tutoring offers an amazing opportunity to really work on the child’s individual needs at their personal level and speed.

My experience

I have experience in the private and state school sectors; of special educational needs; of teaching English as a foreign language; and the 11+ process.  I hold a degree in modern languages from Cambridge University. Plus, I am a Mum! In order to find out a bit more about me, please click here.

What is tutoring?

Tutoring is tailored entirely to your child’s requirements which would be agreed in advance.  For example though, this may include

  • Addressing a weaker area within reading, writing or maths
  • Helping a struggling or demotivated child make progress
  • Preparing for 11+ entrance exams
  • Giving a general ‘boost’ across the board
  • Identifying gaps in learning
  • Stretching and enhancing the learning of a child who is exceeding

Whilst “homework” is not routinely given, I can suggest ideas to continue to work on during the week between sessions at home, depending on the requirements.

Where, what, how long, how much?

Online sessions or local in-person tutoring possible. (Local to GU23). Tutoring takes place at your house.

From £30-£37.50 per 45-minute session / £40-£50 per 60-minute session. No minimum term and no block booking required. Monthly online invoices.

I offer a limited number of regular after-school sessions, as well as ad hoc sessions for those registered with me. These may be in the holidays, weekends or occasional after-school sessions to suit you and your family.

Although I have a particular passion for reading and writing, I also have a maths A-level and am happy to teach maths up to year 9.

Please note that I only accept children 9 years old and over.

Please do contact me for further information.

I look forward to hearing from you.
