About me

My name is Lucie and I want to encourage families to enjoy reading, writing and learning at home.  This ranges from those who need a ‘boost’, to those flying along but preparing for assessments.

Lucie

My interest in supporting children initially developed through my own children. It then grew through working in the private and state school sectors for many years.

Before working in education, I studied languages at Cambridge University and worked on international policy for the UK government. As well as languages, I also have A-levels in maths (A) and music (A).

My personal love of reading and writing arose through my literature and language studies at university. It then developed through my work in government, where I wrote a number of reports and speeches.

My focus now

My main focus is 7-14 year olds. Whilst my special interest is reading comprehension and writing, my work currently covers:

  • English
  • Maths
  • Verbal and non-verbal reasoning

I support these areas via:

my 11+ foundation group

coaching consultations for parents

tutoring

bespoke reading and writing packages

Learning to read and write is a critical life skill. In 2021-22 I therefore donated over £600 of my profits to The ShannonTrust. In 2022-23 my chosen charity is Mary’s Meals. By working with me, you are also supporting others.
